Radical
Robert P. Munafo, 2010 Oct 21.
Colloquial name for a mu-unit together with all the filaments that "hang off" of it. This is used particularly often when the feature in question is secondary and continental.
The name is an extension of the "atom"/"molecule" terminology created by Benoit Mandelbrot. See mu-atom, mu-molecule, bond.
