Coordinate Transforms
Robert P. Munafo, 2011 Jul 28.
Before starting the iteration, the coordinates of a pixel are transformed into the parameter value C shown in the iteration article.
Normally it is a simple linear transformation, to center the image at a desired place in the Mandelbrot set and set the desired magnification.
Other transformations can change the overall shape of the Mandelbrot fractal, sometimes in ways that make it hard to recognize. One example of this is the exponential map.
The Lambda Map can also be attained by a coordinate transformation.
