New Membership Policy, Aug 16 2010
Men's Divisions International, "News from the Board of Directors", August 16th 2010 (Phil Zenner, "August 2010 Board newsletter-final[1].doc", Microsoft Word file converted to PDF). The membership policy is given in a section entitled "Encouraging MDI's growth with new Regional and Membership Policies" on the bottom part of page 4:
A very great deal of thought has been given recently to ways that we as an organization can encourage growth, so that more men can experience the benefits for themselves and their families of what MDI has to offer. Two well-conceived proposals along these lines made by the Regions and by Operational Leadership were recently approved by the Board of Directors. They address our Membership requirements and our Regional structure. As an International organization, we want to make room for all kinds of men to join our teams and participate in our activities without imposing a large set of requirements "from on high". As a result, membership requirements at the International level will simply become that a man strives to uphold and live by the Code of Honor and Core Values of MDI and the standards of any team of which he is a member, adheres to the chain of command of MDI, pays required dues, and executes the necessary Terms of Use Agreement. If individual teams and Divisions wish to add their own standards for membership, they are free to do so.
These membership requirements include six of the items required of the former "General Membership" class; see the summary and table. These changes took effect in the By-Laws on 2011 Jan 1.
