Color Map
Robert P. Munafo, 2010 Sep 7.
A table, or function, for converting dwell values into color values. Sometimes implemented as a hardware palette.
A color map just turns one number (an integer, typically the dwell) into a color. Actual algorithms for computing colors based on more complicated attributes (such as continuous dwell, external angle, and distance estimate) are described in the coloring article.
