The Garden Conlang

(using the SAMPA chart for English for phonetic representation)

Phonology (base set of phonemes):

We start with the common American English set, then make omissions and additions

Omitted phonemes:

   /S/ as in she /Se/ [Doughty]

   /Z/ as in beige /beIZ/

Added phoneme:

   /x/ as in loch /lQx/ (Scottish) [Schlosser]

      (this is technically in English but only through loanwords)

Grammar:

base component order: subject, object, verb [Munafo]

   (example: I the glass have.)

   (Munafo: Yodaspeak use, I say!

   (by comparison English I have the glass is subject, verb, object)

modifier order: noun-adjective [Beck-Levine]

   I the glass tall have.

Vocabulary:

/xu:@/ : n. I, me (the first person singular pronoun, as subject or object) [Ranseth]

/blul/ : n. glass (a container for e.g. drinking) [Schlosser]

/i:k/ : v.t. to have (to hold, possess, own, etc.) [Doughty]

/glib/ : adj, tall [Munafo]
