Point

Robert P. Munafo, 2023 Mar 20.

It is common (though technically inaccurate) to refer to a complex number as a "point", since the complex number corresponds to a point on the complex plane. If the complex number is a + b i, the coordinates of the point are a and b.

In drawing images of the Mandelbrot set, each pixel of the image must be assigned a complex number, see the pixel article for details and variations.

Also, the word "point" is a colloquial term for R2t , a.k.a. the "Tip" or "westernmost" point in the Mandelbrot Set: -2 + 0i .
